Three Marys (detail)--after Annabale Carracci

This is a detail of Annabale Carracci's Three Marys at the Tomb of Christ. He was a successor to Titian and was able to produce the jewel-like colore! Actually there were three Carracci: two brothers and a cousin; but Annabale (Hannibal in English) was the most famous. Peter Paul Rubens may have learned from them during his twelve years in Rome.
