As I remember her from 1958.
A number of
cadet officers brought
in dates for the Senior Prom weekend. Mary Jane
was my date. First we
inspected the Corps, passing along each company. Then we took our places
on the reviewing stand and the Corps marched past in review. It was amazing
could raise one's
esteem in the eyes of one's peers. I recall I was
less mature than she at this time. The Professor of Military Science and
Tactics, in other words, the
officer commanding, regular army Colonel
Lachlan M. Sinclair, came up to me the next day and congratulated me!
