Clara Serena by Peter Paul Rubens. I copied this about 1984. I tried to duplicate Rubens' techniques. It was perhaps in copying this painting that I began to appreciate his greatness as an artist.
Clara Serena was one of Rubens' daughters. She died in an epidemic and he painted her from memory. This is perhaps Judy's favorite painting. Needless to say, Judy keeps me humble and thus my chances for salvation are enhanced.
